Color guide
Plethora3D uses various brands of Silk PLA, Glow PLA, Wood PLA, Sparkle PLA and more from sources like Bambu and Amazon.
In addition to basic PLA, we also enjoy using multicolored filaments that give a more interesting and dramatic appearance to prints.
Silk Filament offers a silk-like and high-glossy finish that adds a luxury appearance to your prints. We also have 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 “Fusion” Silk Filaments, where every inch has has two or three colors. These give your prints not only a smooth and shiny appearance, but also a unique color pattern and effect.
We also use Gradient PLA which offers a soft transition between two colors, and Sparkle PLA. With glitter-like metal particles included in its composition, Sparkle PLA adds a special dazzling look to your prints that sets them apart from the rest.
Wood PLA filament can contain more than 30% real wood fiber, which makes the printed models look like real woodwork. Wood PLA typically shows a dark brown or chocolate brown color, has the grainy appearance of woodwork and feels light like wood.
Finally, glow PLA is like any standard PLA filament but with one key difference: It glows after being charged with light. The intensity and duration of glow can vary across brands and color, so you will likely want to consider the non-glowing (natural) color of the filament.
Note that the final glow of your prints will depend on exposure to UV light. In many cases, this means exposure to direct sunlight. Think ahead about how you plan on using the material and how you’ll be “charging” it.
